Grand Canyon

Hello again! It has been some time since I've made a blog post. Life has been busy in my neck of the woods but I'm finally able to make time to create lately. Today I wanted to share a layout I made using the December 2017 Clique Kits called Lemonade. This kit features the Dear Lizzy Stargazer collection and has beautifully rich colors.

I loved the teepees that are used throughout the collection and decided to paper piece my own teepee scene. My family took a trip to the Grand Canyon and visited a section that had various teepees present and I knew this collection would be the perfect one to use for those pictures.

I used the die cut in the ephemera pack to sketch a larger image of the teepee. Then I cut out each piece and traced it on the pattern papers I wanted to use. Then I glued all of the pieces back together! I even made all the little tassels myself out of embroidery thread from my stash. I used the same technique to make the little bonfire. 

I love hand stitching so to create some texture and add more definition to each shape, I stitched around most of the shapes including the clouds and the grassy mounds. 

Lastly, I used a good majority of the embellishments in the kit to add the final touches to my scene.
